It rained heavily in Newton last night. Got out around 9 am, after saying goodbye to James and Heather. Got to Larned and they were having a parade. I am staying at the Episcopal Church. Some nice people hooked me up. On June 8 I left Larned to Ness City. Stopped at the Santa Fe Trail Center and Fort Larned. Arrived in Ness City at 4:30 pm. The Pastor, Russell King, at the First Baptist Church is letting me stay at the church. As I passed the cows they kept looking at me. I felt that they were God’s Angels looking over me. Does that sound corny? I know that this journey isn’t possible without Jehovah’s help. My bottom seems to be getting better, since I’ve been treating it. I also have modified my riding style. Now I try to stand up more while riding to help air out my injured area. On June 9 I left Ness City. Didn’t get very far, because of a severe storm. Did 35 miles to Dighton, where I help up at the First Baptist Church. Everything is flooded at the park, and no bathrooms are open. The winds are howling outside the church. I am happy to be inside. I left Dighton on June 10. It was cold in the morning, but the Sun came out. That was much needed. At Scott City I stopped at the library and Laundromat. In Leoti I visited the Great Plains Museum. Karen is the director. Talked to Grace via Facebook. Arrived in Tribune, Kansas. I am staying at the park-pool area here. Many parks in Kansas have a pool, however it will cost you to use them. I never did.
Got a shower, rinsed out my clothes, and watched a baseball game in the park. There was a beautiful sunset tonight.
